Milena Govich
Milena Govich is an actor, director as
well as an actor and musician who has directed a number of episodes of TV which
include The Equalizer (2021), Chicago Med (2015), FBI: Most Wanted (2020),
Chicago Fire (2012), among others. Milena was the Co-EP/Producing Director for
Dick Wolf’s CBS show FBI (2018) and is currently working on two pilots. Milena
was among eight women selected for AFI’s prestigious Directing Workshop for
Women. She was also a participant in the Sony Pictures Television Diverse
Directors program. Unspeakable the short film she created, as well as a TV show
proof of concept, was premiered at SXSW. It also won Best Episodic Award at the
Seattle International Film Festival, and Best Pilot at the SoHo International
Film Festival. The film, Temporary, she produced (2017) was screened across the
United States. She was awarded Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival.
Best Dark Comedy Award at Atlanta ShortsFest. And the Director's Choice Award
from Sedona International Film Festival. Milena has appeared in more than 100
episodes of television acting as an actress. She first gained national
attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy
on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). Conviction (2006), which
was a Dick Wolf series, was her second big role. The result was her being the
Emmy-winning female detective in Law & Order (1990). K-Ville (2007),
The Defenders (2010) (CBS), Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family) and Lori
Stevens in the MTV drama Finding Carter (2014) have all featured her or
recurred. Milena has also been featured in various films, including Sordid
Things (2009); A Novel Romance (2011), starring opposite Steve Guttenberg; Pass
the Light (2015) The #Lucky Number (2015) and #Lucky Number (2015), which stars
opposite Method Man; and the film series Closure (2018), Be the Light (2020),
and The Cleaner (2021). Milena, a native of Norman, Oklahoma was the
valedictorian in her high-school, but before that, she completed two majors in
vocal performance and premed at the University of Central Oklahoma. She was
also valedictorian of her high school. Then, she used her classical ballet
skills to appear in a show on Broadway in the Rob Marshall/Sam Mendes
production 'Cabaret' at Studio 54.
