   Heelan was born in Andover (Massachusetts) to Kimball Heelan, actress and Lowell Public Schools teacher, and Kevin Heelan playwright. Conor is her older brother. His father is a professional dramatist who has been an instructor at the Phillips Andover Academy teacher since 1983.
