Markie Post

Markie Post grew up in Walnut Creek, California and began her career in film and TV shows, such as Card Sharks (1978) and "The New Card Sharks" (1986) and continued to make such shows as Double Dare (1976) and appeared on such television projects as 1st to Die (2003), E! True Hollywood Story (1996) and Electra Woman (2000). Her most famous TV role was that of "Christine Sullivan" in Night Court (1984). From 1984 to 1992 she was part of 156 episodes. Marylee (Armstrong) Post was her mother. She is famous for her poetry and as a nuclear scientist Richard Freeman Post (November 14 1918-April 7, 2015). There were two daughters she had with her second husband Michael A. Ross: Katie Ross (born June 26, 1987) and Daisy Ross (born March 30 and died on March 30, 1990). She was born in Palo Alto, California and raised in Walnut Creek. Was a student at Las Lomas High School in Walnut Creek, California; she was an athlete. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at Lewis & Clark College, Portland Oregon. She did some trick roping in The Wildest West Show of the Stars (1986). She was cremated and her ashes were given to Michael A. Ross. She was a long-time Democrat. Markie Post died three months after her 71st birthday, on August 7 2021. She died just 27 days after Charles Robinson, her Night Court (1984) co-star, who died on July 11, 2021. Even though the two shows were completely different, Night Court (1984) was cancelled in 1992 when her character, Christine Sullivan, leaving for Washington DC, and Hearts Afire (1992) was released in the same year, with Post portraying a brand new character Georgie Lahti. She had a chance to work in Washington DC (and later moving to a town that was smaller).
