Rena Sherel SOFER
Rena Sherel Sofer is an American
actressand model, well-known for her performances on the daytime network,
occasional guest appearances and made-for-television films. Sofer was
recognized with the Daytime Emmy Award by CBS in 1995 for her performance as Lois
Cerullo, the role she played on the soap opera General Hospital. She has been
portraying Quinn Fuller since 2013 on CBS' soap production The Bold and The
Beautiful. Sofer was the daughter of Susan Sofer (a psychologist professor) and
Martin Sofer (a Conservative rabbi). Her family then moved to Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania, until the time of divorce of her parents, [citation neededSofer
moved with her brother and father David to Teaneck, New Jersey, in 1970. At the
time, however, Sofer was just 5 years old, they remained in Western
Pennsylvania. They lived in Ambridge, Pennsylvania, where her father ran the
Beth Samuels Jewish Center. She attended the Frisch School, an coeducational
Mordern Orthodox Jewish highschool in Paramus (New Jersey). Sofer lived in North
Bergen where her father was the synagogue's rabbi Temple Beth El. After
graduation from North Bergen High School she went to Montclair State College.
Sofer appeared as Lois Marie Cerullo for the first time on General Hospital. In
1993, she was a band manager. Her first TV role was that of Rocky McKenzie, a
daytime soap hosting host. One of her most well-known roles is that of Lois
Cerullo, a nurse on General Hospital from December 15 the 24th of September
1993 to September 24 in 1996. She was later a guest star on the show (February
7-17, 1997 between September 30th and October 2nd 1997). In 1995, Sofer won a
Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in the Drama Series for
her performance in the role of Lois. In May 2013 it was announced that Sofer
was set to join the CBS soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful and play the
newly-created role of Quinn Fuller; her first episode aired on July 12. Sofer
has appeared as a guest star/supporting cast member in a number of high-profile
primetime television shows, such as Seinfeld and Melrose Place. Her debut
episode aired July 12.
