Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Francesca Wright was born 17 February 1991. She is a model, actress and director from England. Wright is most well-known for her role in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. She was as the character for 10 years prior to her move to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (2011). After the Harry Potter series, Wright appeared in a string of independent films, including Before I Sleep (2013), The Sea (2013), as well as After the Dark (2014) The films were met with mixed reviews. In 2013, she made her stage debut in Peter Ustinov's The Moment of Truth at the Southwark Playhouse. She also earned a bachelor's degree in filmmaking at the University of the Arts London. Her company was later established as her own production firm, BonBonLumiere, and began to produce short films. Her first directed project was the coming-of-age drama Separate We Come. Separate We We Go (2012). This film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival to high critical acclaim. Wright also directed Know Thyself (2016), which featured Christian Coulson, as well as Sextant (2016). Both featured landscape and emotion. Wright's three-part series Phone Calls, which was presented at Tribeca Film Festival 2017, featured three episodes. Medusa’s Ankles (2018) with Kerry Fox, Jason Isaacs and based upon A. S. Byatt's The Matisse Stories. She also created music videos for Scarlett Johansson, Pete Yorn and Sophie Lowe. Wright has earned recognition for her environmental activism; she also acts as an ambassador for the charities Greenpeace and Lumos.
