Deborah Rhea
Seehorn, born May 12, 1972 is an American actress. She is best known for her
character as attorney Kim Wexler on AMC's Better Call Saul (2015-2018), for
which she has been recognized with the Satellite Award for Best Supporting
Actress in a Show, Miniseries, or Television Film. She has also starred in the
NBC series Whitney (2011-2013) and ABC's I'm with Her (2003-2004), and TNT's
Franklin & Bash (2011-2014). Deborah Rhea Seehorn, a Norfolk native was
born on 12 May in 1972. Her mother worked as an executive assistant to the
United States Navy, while her father was an agent with the Naval Investigative
Service; her family moved frequently during her youth, living in Washington,
D.C. and Arizona as well as in Japan. Following the footsteps of her father and
grandmother She was interested in painting, drawing, and architecture from the
age of a child. While she continued her pursuit of the visual arts, she also
discovered a passion for acting. She was also introduced to modern theater at
the time of her college. She graduated from George Mason University in 1994
with a degree in Studio Art. Seehorn started her career in college as an actor,
and was encouraged by her acting teacher. To get noticed she was employed in
ancillary roles in D.C.'s theatre industry. When she did manage to secure major
roles in local productions of theater and had to take on odd jobs in order to
stay afloat, she continued to work in the field of film as an instructional
filmmaker. Soon she began to be part of more television productions. Her role
was often compared to Bea Arthur, who she described as "very funny,"
"sarcastic, and very intelligent" women. These roles were usually
cancelled after just one or two seasons. Seehorn was cast in Better Call Saul,
the Breaking Bad spinoff series. Seehorn is Kim Wexler (a lawyer) and is the
love-interest for Saul Goodman, the aforementioned Jimmy McGill.
