Julia Ormond Bio

Julia (Karin), a dark, beautiful and classically gorgeous British actor and activist was born on January 4th, 1965 in Surrey. She was the fifth of five children. Her parents divorced early and she was raised into an affluent family, being the daughter of a wealthy lab technician. Julia was a student at Cranleigh High School as well as Guildford High School which were both private schools. She was interested in theater and was a part of two musicals they produced. Julia was educated by artists. She was initially aspiring to be an artist. But, she discovered her love for acting after she completed one year at arts school. In 1988, she graduated from the Webber-Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. She portrayed the character Catherine in the film "Wuthering Heights" and later got married to Rory Edwards, an actor. She was awarded the London Drama Critic's Award in 1989 for her performance in the role of Faith, Hope and Charity's "best newcomer" Julia had a huge impact on TV as she portrayed an addict in the teen years of the TV show Traffik (1989). In Young Catherine (1991), she played the role of Catherine the Great and also starred husband Edwards. She was a famous actress. In the TV film Stalin (1992) she played the role of Nadya the wife of Catherine. Robert Duvall was the principal actor. In 1993, she made her debut in a feature film alongside Ralph Fiennes in The Baby of Macon (1993) The Baby of Macon was an action film about the birth of a woman to an "immaculate child". The film was followed by roles as lead or second in films like the European biopic Nostradamus (1994) and the romantic comedy Captives (1996) with co-star Tim Roth, and the period war drama Legends of the Fall (94). She was also the subject of Brad Pitt's love and Aidan Quinn's love. The couple divorced in 1994, right when she started her acting career.
